It’s Words to Live By Wednesday and I wanted to share the words above for anyone who is struggling right now… I don’t mean with just keeping your New Year’s resolutions or your fitness goals, I mean life in general. The past few months have been very challenging for me personally… we moved (so stressful) and there was a crisis in the family that is still requiring loads of love and support. It ‘s exhausting, but that’s how life is sometimes. I remind myself that we’re never given more than we can handle and I muscle through it (or “walk through the fire” as Oprah puts it). Though it may not feel like it, I want to remind you of that too… You are strong enough to deal with whatever challenges you might be facing right now. It will get better so keep your head up. Reach out and accept help, if needed. Be kind and compassionate to yourself and always remember – this too shall pass. I’m wishing you peace, love, and light. Blessings… Mikayla.
It’s Wednesday and therefore time for a few words to live by as you finalize your 2013 goals and keep yourself motivated to achieve them. I am a HUGE proponent for the power of choice. I’m NOT getting into politics here – I’m talking everyday life. Let me explain… When you wake up in the morning, you have the choice to start the day tired and sour as you head off to work. Or you can choose to thank God for another day and focus on the many blessings in your life. When someone does you wrong, you can choose to react badly and fire back in negativity or revenge. Or you can step back, stay in control and in peace, and choose to respond in a manner that is appropriate, respectful, and won’t be regretted later. And when it comes to your health, your fitness, and your eating habits… you can choose whether you take that walk today, whether you eat chicken & veggies for lunch (instead of that burger and fries), and if you’re going to commit to taking your Skinny Fiber twice a day before meals. You CAN do all of it… you simply have to start by choosing to.
So much of losing weight, getting fit, and changing our eating habits starts with our mindset. If you think you cannot do it and won’t accomplish your goals, unfortunately, you’re right. But if you’re open and ready for a shift – even if you believe that you can’t do it right now – you CAN change your mind and accomplish your goals! You just have to shift your perspective. Change the way you look at things and make up your mind to succeed.
This week’s Words to Live By are those that should be remembered all the time…but especially tomorrow as you sit down for Thanksgiving dinner. If you’re trying to lose weight and have been eating right and working out, don’t throw it all away tomorrow by totally overeating! I am NOT saying not to indulge tomorrow – you should definitely grub because it’s a special day that’s all about gratitude, good food, family and friends. However, there is really no need to eat all day long and stuff yourself with unhealthy food until you can’t move. Why not get in a workout in the morning and eat your delicious Thanksgiving dinner in a normal portion until your satisfied That’s my plan, and with the help of Skinny Fiber, I’m gonna do just fine this year. The thing I hate most about dieting is the feeling of d e p r i v a t i o n. Dieting focuses on eating less food, putting less on your plate, drinking less soda, and weighing less overall. I hate that! I’ve found that the focus on less can be a real recipe for failure and definitely leads to discomfort.
Instead of focusing on weighing less, I focus on being more halthy and strong. While the scale can be a useful tool on occasion, I no longer focus on watching those numbers drop. I prefer to focus on feeling more beautiful, looking more attractive in my clothes, feeling more confident in my own skin, and loving myself m o r e. 🙂
