Just about everybody loves to munch on french fries. The siren call of french fries has derailed many diets. Baked fries, however, can be a way of still enjoying french fries while sticking to your diet. Cut your potatoes about a 1/2″ thick, put them into a bowl with a tbsp. of oil, then lightly add a pinch of rosemary (optional), salt, and pepper; bake one layer for 30 minutes at 400 degrees. Gently lift them so they don’t stick, flip them over and then continue baking for about 10 more minutes. These delicious fries are lower in fat and calories and taste as good as deep fried potatoes. This “French bake” recipe comes from Laurel’s Kitchen cookbook.
