I’m on my own thin and strong journey, so this site is a place you can find information and resources on what’s working for me and other amazing women just like you. STEP 2 – Note Your Starting Point

starting weightWhen you reach your goal, you’ll be glad you did this. Now, if you’re joining the Skinny Body Care 90-Day Challenge, it requires that you chronicle your weight loss journey in order to be eligible to receive the $1,000 cash prize. So before you begin taking Skinny Body Max, please do the following:

  1. Take before pictures of yourself (full body shots) wearing tight clothing. Front, back, and side shots with your hands on your hips is best.
  2. Take measurements of all of your body parts, including your chest, both arms, waist, hips, and both thighs.
  3. Weigh yourself and note your starting weight.

I’m not going to pretend that this part is easy… if you’re like me, it probably won’t be. Just remember that you’ve taken a big step by committing to getting healthy and fit – you should be proud of that. It is ok if you’re not happy with how your body looks right now because you’re doing something to change it, but it is crucial that you love yourself every step of the way. My goal is to help you do that!

STEP 3 – Decide on Your Plan of Action

image015You’ve probably been inundated with about a million different ways to lose weight and get fit. From diet programs to fitness classes to supplements, it’s hard to know what to try and – more importantly – what works!  Here’s what I have come to realize – it comes down to what I call “the trifecta” 1) nutrition, 2) fitness, and 3) mindset – simple! Now, I am a HUGE advocate for all natural supplements as well, because I find that when taken with the trifecta they give you a bit of an edge toward meeting your goals. STEP 4 – Change the Way You Think

Don’t obsess over the scale! Yes, you’ve gotta note your starting weight, but after that I strongly suggest you only weigh yourself every week or two. Do it on the same day of the week, first thing in the am, totally nude. But do not measure your success by just those numbers that come up on the scale. Take your measurements every week or two as well because you will be surprised – most people will lose inches before they lose pounds. Most important –  measure your success based on how you look and FEEL! These things are much more important! You’ll notice your tummy getting flatter, you’ll notice a thinner frame emerging in the mirror, and you’ll begin to notice your clothes are getting looser. As you get more fit, you feel yourself getting stronger, running longer, and feeling more energetic. All of these things are going to make you feel awesome and THAT, my love, is success!


STEP 5 – Be Patient

image015The fact is, you did not put on the weight you’re now trying to lose in a week or two, so it’s not likely to come off in that amount of time either. When you start working out, it’s hard if you’re out of shape and haven’t worked out in awhile (or ever). Know that when you start, it will be a challenge and you will be sore and tired and maybe even feel a little discouraged if you can’t keep up with the workouts at first. THAT’S OK – JUST DON’T GIVE UP! You will get stronger and more fit as long as you stay consistent. So be patient with the process as you embark on this journey. Being patient was is tough for me, so it might be for you as well. I found that when I got overwhelmed, I find that focusing on just these 3 things helps a lot…

  1. Try to get active at least 30 minutes a day (even if that means just taking a walk).
  2. When in doubt about what to eat, eat clean, lean, and green. That’s whole foods, lean protein, and green veggies.
  3. Drink more water. Try for at least half your weight in ounces each day.

STEP 6 – Celebrate Your Successes!

This is important because you and your hard work deserve to be celebrated. Set your first goal and when you reach it, reward yourself with a new outfit, a piece of jewelry, or whatever tickles your fancy. Then set another goal and keep on celebrating you!

STEP 7 – Don’t Forget to LOVE YOURSELF While You’re on this Journey

If you slip up and eat something you shouldn’t or miss your workout that day, DO NOT beat yourself up. Simply take note that you made a mistake, learn from it, and pick back up where you left off! The important thing is that you do not give up! It does absolutely no good to feed into a constant barrage of negative thoughts – this practice is self-defeating. A good way to manage this is when you catch yourself thinking (or saying) things to yourself that are negative or mean, ask yourself if you’d talk to your mother, sister, daughter, or best friend that way if she made the same mistake. Chances are the answer will be no. Treat yourself with the same love and respect… you deserve absolutely nothing less.
